Weekend
Wow. Oh my gosh, this weekend was so awesome. (Yes, I know I sound fan-girly.)
For one thing, I finally got to go shopping for new clothes. Mel G. and Misti helped me pick out some really nice stuff. I got a new pair of jeans, a pink camisole, a grey tank-top shirt, a couple of button-down shirts, a new frilly shirt with polka-dots, and a new blue shirt. Much fun. We also went with Leigh Ann, Craven and Memphis to lunch. We ate at Smokey Bones. It was my first time there, and I have heard a lot about it from my friends. I tried the chicken flatbread sandwich. Very tasty. I think I may get me a bag of donuts next time. I hear they are really good.
That evening was the talent show and chili cook-off. Leigh Ann, Mel G., Misti and I were in a couple of performances. One of them was "You're So Vain." Mel G. brought her guitar and pretended to play it during the song. Leigh Ann did the main part, and Misti and I pointed out to the audience (among other minor choreography). We all wore sparkly hats. Mine is still in my car. During this act, G wore hers over her eyes so as to look like a rocker.
The other song we did was "Respect". Again, Leigh Ann mouthed the lead part, and Misti, G. and I danced around her. I think everyone really liked it.
Some other people did acts, too. Mays did a rap that he made up about the Bible. Memphis played a couple of songs on his guitar. He is going to Nashville in May to try out for some contest. Awesome. Mel G. also played her flute.
The BSU from Old Miss was also in attendance, and they did a few songs. They were really, REALLY good. They also did a mini-concert on Sunday evening at church.
After that, Leigh Ann, G and I went to G's house and watched "Chasing Liberty." It was a really cute movie.
Sunday was church, then lunch at Chili's. After that I went to Books-a-Million for the first time. I bought me a new Bible to take to church with me. I also had a Reeses Frappe. It was very good. While I was there, I read "The Glorious Appearing." That is a very good book. I am wanting to read all of the Left Behind books. I own the first three, but I want to read them all.
Sunday night after church, we had Game Night at G's house. We played Imaginif and Catchphrase. Catchphrase, in particular, was a lot of fun. (suppresses evil laugh....)
Things to do tomorrow and Wednesday:
1.) Decide on books to take to the Maud retirement center
2.) Google "staff of life"
3.) Remove boxes from the upstairs hallway, donate 3 million pounds of stuff to the Salvation Army
4.) Finish cleaning out car, for crying out loud
5.) Finish filing taxes
Et cetera.
Today I finally got that turtle from Sonic (hi, Misti!), and I have it in my vehicle. Last night I was sorting through some stuff in my bedroom, and I found my Angel Kitty! I thought that thing was long gone. I put it on my shelf, next to my treasure box and my friends photo. :-)

Awesome shout-out to Booker, by the way. I loved his reaction to it. :-)
